Rocco has Mast Cell and is going through chemo. He doesn't have much time... he is living in boarding and would love to live the remaining time he has in a home!!



Rocco is a staff favorite! He's such an easy going, loveable guy that he's just about the perfect dog and is used as an example of a balanced dog by our trainer. He is an affectionate guy who lived the first 5yrs of his life outdoors with no human companionship. All he wants is a home to live out the rest of his life and to be by your side. Being an American BD mix he needs a firm owner. Rocco would be best suited in a home with no children under the age of 18yrs old but gets along with all dogs over 10 pounds (he has a high prey drive so no teacup fluffy dogs and NO CATS). Becoming a foster parent for Lucky K9 Rescue is one of the most important ways that you can help the dogs in our care and it saves lives! FOSTERS ARE THE REAL HEROS... We may not have been able to rescue the dog you have taken in had you not stepped forward. It takes a special person to be a foster parent!!!




 




Whether you foster tiny puppies, an adult dog, or an elderly, sick or abused dog, they all need the TLC that only a foster parent can provide. The care received in the comfort of your home can get the dogs back on track and boost their chances of being placed in a loving permanent home faster.




 




We are always in need of loving, responsible foster parents.




 




When fostering, you are providing a dog an opportunity to find a home that, without you, s/he would not have had. The length of commitment varies; some dogs require a few days or weeks, some require several months. The dogs taken into our program do not have a time limit, they are safe until a permanent home is found.




 




If you are unable to foster for an indefinite time period, we often have a need for temporary fosters.




 




If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, there are only a few steps to take.




Submit an application, (you must be at least 21 years of age to be a foster parent).




Agree to a home visit and, if applicable, a vet reference.




 




When you are approved -- Lucky K9 Rescue will provide:





  • Food (if requested)






  • Crates (if needed)






  • All veterinary care at a Lucky K9 approved vet






  • Heartworm preventative






  • 24/7 support in emergencies





 




Foster dog will provide:





  • Great companionship






  • Unconditional love






  • Unending gratitude





 




You provide:





  • A safe and loving environment for your foster dog until s/he finds a permanent home






  • Transportation to/from any necessary vet appointments






  • A rescued pet with a second chance at life!

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: 



1.) Complete an application at http://www.luckyk9.org/adoption-application this does not commit you to adopting, it is just the FIRST part of our process



2.) We will review application, contact references (current/former vet(s), landlord/home owners associations) INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE RESPONDED TO.... 



3.) If references check out and current/previous pets have been vetted & cared for, we will contact you to schedule a meet/greet. 



4.) If the meet/greet goes well, we will schedule a home visit and bring the dog you are interested in to your home to finalize the adoption.
